How to Create a Great MarTech Resume

Working on your resume to submit to a potential new MarTech employer? Looking for MarTech jobs in all the wrong places? We can help. Sloane Staffing has been the leader in Martech recruiting for years, and we’ve seen it all. Marketing Technology is our bread and butter! Keep scrolling for our tips on what to include in a Martech resume, what skills and technologies need to be given hierarchy and how to get noticed by leaders in this competitive space.

First, we must start from the beginning. What exactly is marketing technology? Marketing Technology is a general term for tech used to assist marketing teams in their work. Ultimately, MarTech makes organizations more efficient and effective. The main types of MarTech are advertising, analytics, content management, CRM & social media.

The shift of technology in marketing drives employers to re-evaluate the key skill sets and qualities they look for in today’s talent to push their efforts forward in a fast-paced environment. Be sure to include in the skills section of your resume any tools you have mastered in this space. For example, if your specialty is email marketing, hype up your proficiency in MailChimp, AWeber, Get Response, etc. Or any customer relationship management tools you’ve used such as Salesforce, Active Campaign, HubSpot, etc. Put your best skills/use of tools at the top and rank yourself using a fun infographic on your proficiency of each skill.

When beefing up the experience section on your resume, ask yourself these questions:

  • Have I integrated customer-focused journeys with the “tools of the trade?'

  • Am I hands-on with the technology, when required?

  • Can I show how I have leveraged technology to improve marketing processes?

  • Can I describe the bottom line impact of a campaign (s) I put together from a technology solution that I helped select and/or implement?
