About the role

Our client is seeking a Digital PR / Media Relations Associate to help support digital PR campaigns through outreach and media relations across a range of clients and industries. The key to our success is the quality of our content. We’re looking for equal parts results-oriented communicator and intrepid experimenter. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable building relationships with journalists, analyzing data to find interesting angles, and A/B testing various outreach tactics. This is a dynamic role that requires strong time management skills. You’ll need to keep track of projects, measure their performance, and always look for ways to top past successes.

Responsibilities

Generate creative and compelling ideas to develop into PR campaigns

Research popular online publications to find industry trends and interesting angles

Develop relationships with journalists and bloggers

Write killer subject lines and compelling outreach copy

Work on high-profile PR campaigns and acquire top-tier coverage

Create lists of blog and media targets for outreach campaigns

Track and share outreach performance and press coverage

Respond to daily media inquiries and requests

Stay up to date on the current news, identifying opportunities for campaigns and stories.

Required Skills

1+ years working in an agency or newsroom environment

PR, journalism, or content marketing experience

Enthusiasm for all things PR, news, and online media

Strong project management skills

Proven problem-solving ability

Sound news judgment

Close attention to detail

Ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

Experience with tools such as BuzzStream, Cision, MuckRack, or Meltwater

Experience with tools such as Moz, Ahrefs, Semrush

Understanding of off-page SEO concepts and how they can be used to drive client results
