About the role

Our client is seeking a Digital PR Strategist to help produce data journalism that will be featured on top-tier media sites and consumed by millions. They’re looking for someone who can develop great story ideas and support the production of those ideas, including research, writing, and creative direction. An ideal candidate will be widely read and conversant in many subjects, endlessly curious, and a natural storyteller. This work requires strong time and project management skills and exquisite attention to detail, as your work will represent our clients in national and international media.

Responsibilities

Generate compelling ideas to develop into PR campaigns

Research popular online sites to find industry trends and interesting angles

Develop data using surveys, scrapes, or publicly-available sources

Analyze data to gain news-worthy insights and angles

Generate interesting storylines

Work with designers, writers, and editors to manage project timelines

Required Skills

1-3 years working in an agency or newsroom environment

Enthusiasm for all things PR, news, and online media

Passion for data and data visualization

Strong project management skills

Proven problem-solving ability

Sound news judgment

Close attention to detail

Near perfect grammar

Strong data analysis skills

Ability to juggle competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

Understanding of off-page SEO concepts

Experience working with Tableau or other data visualization tool
